In my maritime odyssey, I've navigated the boundless waters of the industry, each wave bringing new lessons and challenges. It all began as a cadet, wide-eyed and eager, aboard the vessels of Wijnne Barends. Those days onboard were filled with a blend of excitement and trepidation, but they laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong passion.
As I climbed the ranks, from cadet to navigational officer and second officer, I honed my skills in ship operations, safety protocols, and crew management. It was a journey of responsibility, where each decision mattered, and the seas demanded respect. With each promotion, I embraced the responsibility of guiding a vessel through the unpredictable waters, instilling a culture of safety and precision among the crew.
My dedication to safety and excellence led me to a new chapter as a safety instructor at FMTC Safety. Here, I had the privilege of sharing my experiences and knowledge with aspiring mariners. The classroom became my stage, and each scenario-based training session was an opportunity to mold capable seafarers. Offshore trips were our proving ground, where theory met the practical challenges of the open sea.
Today, I find myself in a different yet equally exciting role, working with the Dutch pilots. Here, I'm immersed in an internal training system, mastering the art of driving jet-propelled tenders. This new challenge is a testament to the ever-evolving nature of the maritime world, where learning never ceases.
My portfolio is a testament to the voyage of a passionate mariner who has traversed various roles, from cadet to safety instructor to jet-propelled tender driver. With each endeavor, I carry the lessons of the sea, the commitment to safety, and the pursuit of excellence. The maritime industry is a vast ocean of opportunities, and I'm ready to navigate its currents with expertise and dedication, always looking forward to the next horizon.
